Led by Dave Lopez, who’s been tattooing since 1992, Shisa represents a lifelong journey through tattooing, music, and culture. Dave is part of a rich family lineage in NYC tattoo history — but has carved his own path over the past three decades, from touring with bands like Rancid and The Offspring, to spending years tattooing in Okinawa, Japan at One Shot Tattoo. His deep appreciation for Japanese art, language, and tradition has shaped his signature style and inspired the creation of Shisa.

Shisa Tattoo Studio specializes exclusively in traditional and contemporary Japanese-style tattooing. All work is done by appointment only and designed in collaboration with each client to honor the depth, symbolism, and artistry of Japanese tattoo culture.
